Turbine Machine Controls

All machines produced by Liberty or its affiliated partners are controlled by a modern control system, including all safety aspects. Our subsidiary Liberty Control Systems developpes machine automation for basically all Gasturbine applications, not based on “state of the art”, but based on modern, well proven techniques.

We specialize in the design of turbine control systems. Liberty Control Systems has extensive experience in integrating turbines in special applications.

Liberty Control Systems is not only limited to turbine controllers, but also has extensive experience with robot control, automation of barcode / card reading systems and in automation of advanced air filtering techniques.

Our experience ranges from simple pressure or temperature measurement to advanced robot control.

For our machines we have made operating systems with, among other things:

  • A VIPA SPEED7 PLC (Siemens S7 300 compatible)
  • An industrial touch screen PC
  • Various industrial temperature and pressure sensors with 4-20mA measured value inverters for longer distances.

The mutual communication is done via MPI. These are systems with an automated start-up cycle and continuous process monitoring.

The process values ​​can be read off on the touchscreen (black / white or colour) and the process monitoring can be set.

For the Steamexfire systems we have developed an operating system with:

  • A VIPA SPEED7 PLC (Siemens S7 300 compatible)
  • An industrial touch screen PC
  • Various industrial temperature and pressure sensors with 4-20mA measured value inverters for longer distances.

The PC has embedded Windows XP as the operating system. The processor does not require active cooling and is started from a flash memory. As a result, there are no moving parts in the PC and thus mechanical wear is excluded. A SCADA system developed by Liberty Control Systems runs on the PC. With this SCADA system the process values ​​can be displayed in a graph. The measured values ​​are stored on the PC and can be shown again in the graph at a later time. Furthermore, all warnings and alarms are registered and stored on the PC.

The mutual communication goes through ethernet.

The PLC is responsible for the automated start-up cycle of the turbine engine and the process monitoring.

Robot controls

Furthermore, Liberty Control Systems designs and develops robot controls based on system-specific programming packages. We have experience with ABB and Kawasaki robots.

Operating systems

A part of Liberty Gasturbine International’s activity is the development and production of industrial control systems. All Liberty-produced machines are equipped with a very user friendly operating system with which all safety provisions are guaranteed, including modem communication and datalogging.

With such a control system the operation of a gas turbine driven machine is simplified to an on and off switch.
